Next year I am starting early and sparing myself the yearly pre-Christmas shopping insanity. It seems like each year Christmas shopping brings out the worst in everyone. One of these times, some poor unsuspecting person is going to fall victim to a psycho power shopper.
I’m not trying to sound anti-Christmas, in fact Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. It just seems like the madness of it gets worse with each passing year. Personally, I don’t understand the reasoning behind the growing shopper frustrations.
I mean earlier this week I finished up the last of my shopping. It should have taken me a mere hour to an hour and a half at most. That’s what it should have taken me, in actuality it took close to six hours. During that 6 hour period I faced pushy shoppers, angry shoppers and what could possibly have been near violent shoppers.
For the sake of my own sanity and general well-being, I will ordering the bulk of my presents online next year. It’s the only way that I can be certain that I will avoid bodily harm. After all, what’s the worst that could happen from the comfort of my home. Short of my pc suddenly shooting electrical volts into my fingertips, I should be safe.
I can’t say for certain one way or other as to the degree of increased intensity of this shopping experience compared to those in the past. All I can say is that enough is definitely enough. Besides next year I can actually buy more presents considering that many online items seem to have a better price than typical retail. So thank you crazy shoppers, you in your own way are going to help me to get more for less.
